Er sah zum Fenster hinaus: (…) aber die Lichter, die aus den Häusern an der Straße schimmerten, wurden immer zahlreicher, warfen einen stetigen gelben Schein auf die Fenster (...). Gerade in diesem Augenblick sah er das Schild mit den Worten Stadtgrenze und Willkommen aufleuchten. Und schon war es vorbei.
